The effects of the Civil Rights Movement include the Civil Rights Act, the 24th amendment, and the Voting Rights Act, which all gave blacks equality under the law.
What were the various actions that African Americans took during the Civil Rights Movement in order to affect change? How effective were each of these? What was the most important event during the Civil Rights Movement? Why?
Some actions African Americans took during the Civil Rights Movement include boycotts, attendance of all-white schools, and sit-ins. The Montgomery Bus Boycott was extremely effective with 99% participation by blacks. The attendance of all-white schools by blacks was also effective because it swayed the public opinion in favor of them. The Sit-in Movement was especially effective because it resulted in integration in interstate travel and restaurants. The most important event during the Civil Rights movement was Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat to whites. This led to her arrest, and eventually, the Montgomery Bus Boycott led by Martin Luther King, Jr. This boycott was followed by the Supreme Court declaring bus segregation unconstitutional.

I think the Civil Rights Movement was successful to a large extent because it achieved its main goal with the Civil Rights Act, which ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination. It also led to the 24th Amendment and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which also assisted the African Americans to achieve greater equality with the whites.

The causes of the Vietnam War include the threat of communism in Vietnam and its nearby countries and the Gulf of Tonkin incident. The effects of the Vietnam War include many deaths, the US withdrawal, and Vietnam becoming communist. The Vietnam War changed America by the removal of the draft, granting 18-year-olds the right to vote, and creating mistrust of the government by the people. The United States did not win the Vietnam War because it did not achieve its goal of preventing the spread of communism in Vietnam and its nearby countries.

The Gulf of Tonkin incident was significant because it got the US involved in the war. The Tet Offensive was significant because it increased American disapproval of the war. The withdrawal of American troops was significant because it led North Vietnam to capture the South and create a communist state.
